With a touch of humor and strong doses of common sense, the books easy to read style leads the reader through practical dos and donts when trying to find a meaningful relationship. I loved the definitions and his honest male perspectives offered at the beginning of each chapter. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

This is a great book! Some great info on getting yourself ready for the dating experience fast. I got it and read it in the same evening! Loved the section about things to look out for in men such as looking at the folks he hangs out with. This speaks volumes and we know them but just dont do it! Thanks for the reminders. Youve really got to be confident in yourself and this book is like visiting a weekend positive conference but quicker. Steve has great discernment in the male area. This book has exactly the kind of information I was looking for. It challenged me to look at my dating behaviors and gave real life suggestions for change. The chapters on Blind Spots and Small Talk were especially enlightening. The honest male perspective was the most valuable information in Dating Rocks!. I am hoping to have great dating experiences from here on.

I totally enjoyed this book. Steves style of writing is easy to read and comprehend.A couple of the chapters really hit home and gave me ways to correct my past behavior. I would recommend this book to any woman that is having some dating issues.

Dating Rocks is a sensible, insightful view into the mind of a man and what he wants out of a relationship. It is appropriate for any female wanting a mature, adult relationship with a man and gives her specific and detailed guidance on how to achieve it. Nakamoto writes in easy to understand language, using the same format for each chapter that makes the information easily accessible. The chapters are broken down into simple steps, making the information manageable. He provides the reader with challenges for each step and thoughtful advice about looks, charm, honesty, loyalty and love.

Dating Rocks covers all areas of dating, beginning with presenting yourself to men as an attractive, available woman who is well put together, mature and highly desirable. Nakamoto shows ways to make yourself a better person in order to be a contributing part of a two sided relationship. He moves into what a healthy happy relationship should and should not be, tackling the chemistry a couple feels in a sensitive way. Then he shows the importance of maintaining that relationship so you can continue in a partnership that will bring you happiness for a lifetime.

I could have used this book when I was dating my husband. It would have made my dating experience go a lot smoother. I would recommend this book to any single woman that is frustrated with the dating experience or one that needs some ideas on how to keep her current romance alive. A must read for those inexperienced at dating, whether being young or newly single. Nakamotos self-improvement tips are right on the mark, even for married women.

I often tell women, If there is something you want to know about men, ask a man. I purchased Steve Nakamotos first book, Men Are Like Fish and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Now, with his latest book, Dating Rocks, he has a new masterpiece! This book forces women to look at themselves first and to face the truth about their relationship habits/choices. The fact that it is written by a man enriches the book even more. I was stunned to my core when I read about a certain type of relationship Steve warns women to abstain from and it is the type of relationship I repeatedly found myself in. I was finally able to free myself from this type of relationship only a year ago. Dating Rocks is a 240 page dating manifesto that outlines everything a woman should do to find, date and keep a man -- from being aware of her physical appearance to honing her listening skills.

The best part of this book is Nakamotos wit as he helps the reader along. As a former Dale Carnegie instructor, personal development trainer, and international tour director, Nakamoto knows how to tell a story. Theres a rather amusing tale of how he and a friend had sworn off all women as gold-diggers since all of the women they encountered at an upscale nightclub would only go out with them once. A friend of theirs tells them, The problem isnt that these women are gold-diggers. Its that you guys unfortunately cant afford them. The book follows a rigid but successful format. Each chapter begins with a nifty quote from a major author or artist, past or present. For instance, Chapter 13 titled Competition, opens with a quote from Margaret Halsey: The great disadvantage of being in a rat race is that it is humiliating. The competitors in a rat race are by definition rodents. An honest male prospective that summarizes what is to be learned in the chapter follows these quotes. Nakamoto also includes an anecdote from his life such as the email he received from a woman complaining about an aspect of her dating life, followed by a list of steps on how to successfully accomplish whatever the theme of the chapter happens to be.

WHY DID YOU WRITE YOUR SECOND BOOK, DATING ROCKS!

After attending a publishing seminar, I decided to enroll in a one-year publicity campaign where I sent my book to various newsletters, Internet sites, radio stations, television producers, and magazine editors.

One of my publicity leads got me a 10-minute appearance on the daytime television talk show The Other Half which starred Dick Clark, Danny Bonaduce, Dorian Gregory, and Mario Lopez.

That appearance along with other media appearances eventually got the attention of iVillage.com, the largest womens community on the Internet. An editor for iVillage.com was in search of a man to become the host of their message board called Ask Mr. Answer Man.

I agreed to appear on that site and answer questions from women of all ages and around the world about men, dating, romance, and love. My main function was to provide an honest male perspective on the issues of a womans everyday life.

After doing this for over a year handling 10-15 questions a day, I began noticing certain patterns or consistent problems that women were experiencing. So I started saving my responses as template instead of writing the same thing to future posters on the same general issue.

I also began to stop using the fishing metaphor from my first book in my responses. Since not every woman was into my Men Are Like Fish theme, I saw a place where I could offer my new understandings about womens love challenges in a non-metaphor way. The experience that I gained from being the Answer Man had given me the examples, experience, and feedback to venture into a new book.

About the Author
Steve Nakamoto is a former human relations/communications instructor for Dale Carnegie and Associates and personal development/Life Mastery trainer for world-renowned motivation and peak-performance expert Tony Robbins. Steve has also spent several years as an international tour director taking clients on first-class vacation trips.
